What brought you to Baltimore?
I moved to the Baltimore area in 2010, and stayed around. After venturing around and exploring the area, over time I’ve grown to love Baltimore. To document my discoveries, I take pictures and write, which I post on my blog and Instagram. I aim to help others get out of their confront zone and try a new spot to eat or to do an activity they’ve never tried before. It’s important to live life to the fullest, and I learned that through blogging and urban adventuring.
What’s your connection to Baltimore?
I love discovering local business, learning about and getting to know people who work in the industry. I enjoy hearing their stories: how they got to where they are now, skills they’ve obtained, people they’ve met, how they got started, and their drive and their goals.
Besides my blog, I’m very involved with the Baltimore Brew Club. A good friend of mine, Andrew, began the club, and I help run it. Anyone can join! I so enjoy learning about these local businesses and the people who work with them. I’ve also gained technical skills relevant to brewing coffee and brewing beer. If it wasn’t for the Baltimore Brew Club, I would not have the friends I have today (whom I love!) and the knowledge about the coffee and beer industry.
What do you like about Baltimore?
I love how our city has a small town feel, that you can’t get anywhere else. Also, the art scene is simply amazing! For example, around every street or corner I turn, there is a huge mural or something artistic on the walls of the buildings. Baltimore is brimming with untapped creativeness. I see it in my friends and in everyone I meet. Our creativity, and the drive to bring it out and work together, connects all of us. Our city has so much potential, and I’m happy to meet the locals that are passionate enough to take our city to the next level.
New Baltimoreans should definitely check out:
Baltimore Brew Club: The Baltimore Brew Club partners with local coffee roasters/shops and local breweries to help promote them through a membership, which allows access to deals you can’t get as a normal customer. Examples are getting one coffee for free with a purchase or getting a free pint glass if you buy a beer. There is a very low fee to sign up, and your money goes to a great non-profit. We are all about supporting local businesses and giving back to our local non-profits!
